Leading With AI

Workshop Description
This full day interactive workshop, specifically tailored for educational leaders, provides them with a comprehensive exploration of Ai tools for education, with practical applications for leadership roles.

Participants will also be engaged in an analysis and reflection process regarding how to best implement AI in schools, including ethical and social impact of projected developments, and we will utilize these same tools to synthetize conclusions and recommendations in real time.

 

Objectives

  1. Acquire Comprehensive Knowledge of AI Fundamentals: Participants will delve into the core functionalities and inner workings of AI technologies, including an exploration of current capabilities, potential future developments, and inherent limitations.

  2. Deepen Understanding of AI's Impact in Education: The workshop aims to examine both the transformative potential and the ethical considerations associated with integrating AI into educational settings, ensuring leaders are prepared to navigate these complex dynamics.

  3. Explore the Breadth of AI Applications: Attendees will explore the extensive range of AI applications pertinent to both students and staff within the educational context. This will encompass an overview of innovative tools and methods that enhance learning experiences and operational efficiency.

  4. Develop and Implement AI Policies: A key objective is to empower leaders to formulate and execute comprehensive schoolwide policies regarding the use of AI.

  5. Evaluate AI Tools for Leadership Roles: The training will include sessions on analyzing and assessing various AI applications specifically for their relevance and utility in leadership roles within the school system. This will enable leaders to make informed decisions about adopting AI tools that result in improved efficiencies in academic and administrative processes.

  1. Introduction to ChatGPT and Generative AI Technologies: Fundamentals of Machine Learning, Neural Networks, Deep Learning, and Reinforcement Learning

  2. Key concepts and terminologies in generative AI.

  3. Addressing the Transparency Problem in AI Systems.

  4. Ethical Considerations and Future Projections: Deep dive into ethical issues arising from AI applications.

  5. Discussion on projected developments in AI technologies.

  6. Understanding risks and potential limitations of AI in educational contexts.

  7. Generative AI Applications in Education: Comprehensive overview of how generative AI can be utilized in teaching and learning.

  8. Exploration of personalization techniques in education through AI.

  9. Guidelines for appropriate uses of AI applications by students.

  10. Application and Implications at the School Level: Engaging in discussions, reflections, and analysis of AI applications in the school environment.

  11. Developing principles for formulating schoolwide AI policies.

  12. AI Applications for Leadership Roles: Utilizing AI for document and data analysis.

  13. Incorporating AI in curriculum review, assessment development, rubric creation, and lesson planning.

  14. Leveraging AI for conducting surveys and other instruments to gather staff insights, ideas, and opinions.

  15. Enhancing professional learning, presentations, and research through AI tools.

  16. Encouraging sharing of best practices and real-life implementation examples among leaders and staff.

  17. Fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptation in the use of AI technologies.

Comprehensive Resource Hub: At the conclusion of the session, participants will gain exclusive access to an online hub, as a central repository for all training resources, links, and materials.

About the Trainer

Gabriel Rshaid is the co-founder and Director of The Learnerspace, a company whose mission is to help build the future of learning. He is also co-founder of The Global School, the first school of its type in Latin America, attempting to make educational change a reality. Formerly Headmaster of St. Andrew’s Scots School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the oldest bilingual school in the world, he is a passionate educational futurist who is intent on sharing his belief that it is the best time in history to be an educator. Gabriel is the author of five books, and has contributed as a co-author to numerous other books and anthologies. A former board member of ASCD and chair of ESSARP, he has spoken and led professional development workshops all over the world, working with educators to help create the future of education.
